What does community mean?
Community means different things to different people.
It can mean:

. People living near each other
. Groups that have the same interest or hobby; or
. A nationality, such as being Welsh, English or Polish


What does Community Cohesion mean?
Community Cohesion means:

. How everyone in different areas live beside each other with respect and understanding of differences;

. Community life where everyone has a chance to take part;
. Where everyone gets equal use of services;
. Everyone valuing differences;
. Accepting and supporting each other
. Overcoming problems

Community Cohesion is what must happen in all communities to enable different groups of people to get on well together. A key contributor to community cohesion is integration which is what must happen to enable new residents and existing residents to adjust to one another.
