Safer Vale launches anti domestic abuse campaign

The Safer Vale Partnership has launched 'Behind Closed Doors' a campaign to raise awareness of domestic abuse. The campaign was launched at Llandough Hospital in partnership with Atal-y-Fro and is aimed at all members of the public regardless of their age, sex or status

The campaign uses a multi media approach, which includes Bluetooth messaging, YouTube video and a holographic poster based on a magazine cover featuring a cover girl's face that changes to reveal a black eye when the viewer changes their viewing angle. The poster then features slogans such as “It’s your fault” and “I will never do it again.”

Councillor Paul Church, Chair of the Safer Vale Partnership, commented: “The campaign is designed to make people think about the excuses perpetrators use to justify their abuse. Domestic abuse is not acceptable and there is no justification for physically or emotionally abusing another person. We would like to convey to the general public that there is confidential help available and that you’re not on your own.”
