Older People

Older Peoples Strategy Forum

An Older Peoples Strategy Forum exists in the Vale of Glamorgan to do the following:-

  • Ensure that older people’s opinions/views have an effect on decision and policy making. This is both at a local level in the Vale of Glamorgan and at a national level. The people involved take an active and equal part in that process.

  • Involve members with their local community, planning of local services and infrastructures

  • Establish and develop a platform to challenge age discriminatory practice

  • Develop policies to tackle poverty and social exclusion

  • Promote the development of integrated services to meet older people’s needs
  • Develop a better community transport system

  • Establish and develop ways of promoting a positive image of older people

You can join the forum and ensure the strategy works for you:

  • If you are aged 50 or over
  • If you live or work in the Vale of Glamorgan

For further information on the work of the Older Peoples Strategy Forum visit their website www.valeopf.org.uk
